Nylon is a polyamide fiber which belongs to man-made yarns. It is also called in Germany as dederon, in the US as anide or nylon 6, and in CIS as capron.
Nylon has incredibly high absolute strength, elasticity and dimensional stability both in dry and wet condition.
Flexibility and strength of the nylon is irreplaceable in knitwear for sports, swimsuits, socks, stockings, knee socks.
Nylon is mainly added to the blended yarns such as cotton, wool, viscose in order to enhance the strength and dimensional stability of products. A thin thread of nylon is good in combination with the thin thread of mohair or merino. The content of nylon should not exceed 10-20 percent, which enables to maintain the high quality and excellent properties of the main yarn fibers.
Acryl yarn in combination with nylon is good for knitting of lace, romantic accessories and trendy interior items.
